Hebrews  1O:35-36

“So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised…I take no pleasure in the one who shrinks back.”

Isn’t it the absolute worst thing when someone throws away their confidence in you? How much more does it hurt the all perfect and magnificent God when we decide to throw away our confidence in Him? Faith is lived out in our behavior towards each other and through the trying times. We so often allow ourselves to get sucked into hate, self-harm, loneliness or you fill-in-the-blank. This pierces God’s heart. Not only is he rooting for us, He is fighting for us. Do not throw away your confidence in Him, for it will be richly rewarded. God doesn’t just toss us a bone when we boldly enter into each day and circumstance with His confidence, He says he will richly reward us. He loves to recognize those of His who walk firmly in the attitude of boldness. We are doing ourselves and everybody else a favor when we live this out.

It is commanded of us to not shrink back, but to walk boldly. Imagine your life if you never shrunk back every time you needed to step up. It would look different. When we decide to flip that switch in our lives, be ready to “receive what he has promised” (Hebrews 10:36). Take a deep breath and walk forward and do not look back. You were born to be bold so take those risks but take them arm-in-arm with Jesus. Do not shrink back, instead keep your eyes dead-locked on Him because it is not by our strength but by His. This is the most important part of it all because without Jesus, we will shrink back and it will crush us. Remember, “we do not belong to those who shrink back and are destroyed, but to those who have faith and are saved” (Hebrews 10:39).
